RST launches RT20 Dynamic to increase road surface life and reduce road maintenance

October 19, 2016

An innovative new product, RT20 Dynamic, a liquid soil compaction aid to increase road surface life and reduce road maintenance during the wet season, has been developed by leading Australian fine particle management company Reynolds Soil Technologies (RST Solutions).

RST Solutions, a global leader in developing fast, effective and environmentally friendly dust, soil and water solutions for the mining, construction and civil industries, has developed RT20 Dynamic as a super concentrate liquid dispersant for improved performance and dust control.

The latest addition to RST Solutions’ high-tech, problem solving range of products, RT20 Dynamic is a cost effective liquid soluble, environmentally safe additive that increases stability by enabling soil and gravels to attain a much higher density and strength than could be attained in usually substandard natural road building materials.

RT20 Dynamic enables the treated material to be compacted faster using less water, improving the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) strengths and increasing densities by reducing the void spaces between the soil particles in turn reducing water’s ability to permeate through the compacted material and cause damage.

For application during road construction, the recommended dosage of RT20 Dynamic is added into the water truck used for compacting the road building material.

RT20 Dynamic can also be used for existing pavement rehabilitation by applying the diluted product throughout the process of ripping the road to the recommended depth, breaking up material, blending and compacting.

RST Solutions operations and technical director David Handel said RT20 Dynamic was developed to increase operational optimisation by being cost effective and easy to use while complementing standard construction practices in road construction and earthworks.

“Our team of industry experts works on-site with our clients to identify what challenges they face and which products they need from our extensive range of solutions, because every client’s operational challenges and environmental conditions are different,” Mr Handel said.

“It was through this in-depth consultative process with clients that we identified the need for a cost effective road stabiliser and dust suppressant to increase road surface life and reduce maintenance during the wet season,” he said.

“Our research and development team set about creating our specifically tailored solution to fill this need, resulting in the cutting edge RT20 Dynamic formula.

“RT20 Dynamic and other RST Solutions’ products and services can be tailored into a complete package to fulfil each client’s individual needs, providing a cost-effective plan to obtain the highest level of operational optimisation.

“We then continue to service our clients with on and off-site training and support to ensure our recommendations are successfully implemented with attentive operational support.

“At RST Solutions we believe reputation is built on results, so we strive for continuous improvement of our range of dust, earth and water solutions through a range of ongoing research and development programs.

“There is nothing more satisfying than identifying a client’s problem and being able to solve it for them, either with a tailored product from our existing range or by creating a cutting edge new solution in our laboratory.”
