Reynolds Soil Technologies has teamed with helicopter charter company Calibre Aviation to offer aerial dust suppression for remote and inaccessible mines.

Reynolds Soil Technology (RST) technical and development director, David Handel, said ”Working with Calibre Aviation is allowing us to distribute solutions to previously inaccessible areas, such as tailing dams that you can’t drive to.

“Our focus in the past 12 to 18 months has been on upping our product range and market share. Now our goal is to focus on forming strategic alliances.”

Calibre Aviation has a new Super D2 Squirrel helicopter for the dust suppression work, which is capable of carrying 1t of solution. Its current fleet consists of 12 helicopters that can carry up to 1.5t.

Currently, Calibre Aviation specialises in charter operations, geophysical surveying, fire bombing, heavy lifting and power line operations for agriculture and mining companies.

RST operates in North Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. An initial aerial project is about to start in Mt Isa.
