RST enters Peruvian market

Date: 25 August 2011

Queensland-based dust suppression company, Reynolds Soil Technologies (RST) has continued its overseas expansion with a move into the Peruvian market.

"The Australian-owned company says it has experienced rapid global expansion in the past 18 months and has now signed an agreement with a supplier in Peru to set up an onshore distribution centre in Lima to supply dust solutions to the company's mines.

RST technical and development director David Handel said the supplier made contact with RST direct through the company's website.

"The businesses we have teamed up with supply commercial products to mines and they saw the opportunities of working with us to develop, offer and supply complete dust management solutions to the mining industry in Peru," he said.

"Mines can't move forward unless dust is under control. That is one of the biggest issues for them, and it's one that we bring under control in a range of solutions and tailored strategies."

The move into Peru follows RST's recent establishment of distribution centres in Brazil in 2010 and the Philippines earlier this year. The company also has current projects operating internationally in South Africa, Asia and New Caledonia.

RST co-director Peter Parkinson said the company's growth objective included plans to bolster its international business market by 25 per cent. "We are always looking for opportunities to expand and develop overseas," said Mr Parkinson.

"As an Australian company, we recognise our on shore projects are our platform operations, the foundations of our success, and we will always maintain building our core client base here in Australia.

"However international markets offer a wealth of opportunity and slowly but surely we are building a presence and recognition among overseas markets."
