Road & Soil Stabilisation

RST has developed and manufactured a range of Soil Stabilisers to facilitate improved compaction levels for a number of applications. RST’s Soil Stabilisers are designed to modify the existing material and improve structural integrity.

As part of RST’s dust, earth and water Research and Development Program, RST have identified areas of material failure which are common to roads, car parks and hardstand areas as well as larger compacted construction areas. RST’s carefully formulated innovative range of soil stabilisers suit different material types including:

  • High plasticity material (high clay content)
  • Zero to low plasticity material (sandy, silty materials)
  • Materials that are not totally compatible with water


RST manufacture a unique range of products that increase soil strength and improve compaction on:

  • Unsealed roads
  • Car parks
  • Hardstand areas
  • Construction pads
  • Foundations
  • Anywhere structurally compacted base materials are required


When applied to gravel roads, a longer lasting all weather proof road pavement is achieved.  The products are designed and manufactured to be applied during normal construction and maintenance programs.

Improvements made to existing materials treated with our soil stabilisers include:

  • Improved bearing capacity
  • Reduced water permeability to alleviate mud and slush
  • Fines loss reduction


RST’s Soil Stabilisers are diluted in water and applied through a variety of equipment, including water cards, spray nozzle systems, agricultural sprays and backpacks. RST can advise or custom design spray systems to suit the application.
