The big wigs at Reynolds Soil Technologies, swapping their hard hats for bike helmets, have managed to raise $7000 to fight cancer and get a little saddle sore at the same time.

The Gold Coast-based mining resources company entered a team of five in the inaugural warriors Pedal for Prostate bike rid, raising the funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The group, headed by RST boss and cycling enthusiast David Handel, sported specially-made lycra RST suits in the 100km ride.

"We were all a bit sore afterwards, but we had a great day," says Mr Handel.

Also on the charity round, Telstra Gold Coast has raised more than $4000 for the Southport Surf Life Saving Club during a recent initiative.

Telstra donated $30 from each eligible mobile plan or Bigpond service to the club. It's a pity a couple of thousand customers didn't sign up.
